KMS Tools is now stocking MiterSet mitre gauge jigs. Both MiterSet Standard and MiterSet Segments are available at KMS Tools locations across Western Canada and online at kmstools.com.
Compatible with most standard 3/4″ mitre gauges, MiterSet jigs make it easy to set your mitre gauge to cut accurate angles with your table saw. Whether you are cutting mitre joints for picture frames or segments for turning projects, MiterSet jigs deliver precise, glue-up ready angles every time—no sanding needed!
MiterSet Standard
With MiterSet Standard, you can set your mitre gauge to left or right angles from 0 – 52.5 degrees. Using the jig is a piece of cake: First slide your mitre gauge into the slot in the jig, place one pin at zero and the other in the hole next to your desired angle. Once the pins are in, slide your mitre gauge against the pins to register the angle. Then lock your gauge, fire up your saw and start cutting.
While the holes specify angles in 5 degree increments, you can fine-tune angles using the supplied detent bar, which is notched from 0.5 degrees to 2.5 degrees in 0.5 degree increments. For example, if you want to cut a 22.5 degree angle, set the pins to 20 degrees and position the detent bar between the pins and your mitre gauge. Make sure the 2.5 degree notch is sitting against the pin in the 20 degree hole. Then align the face of your mitre gauge with the detent bar and secure it. It’s that easy!
MiterSet Segments
MiterSet Segments is designed to set precise angles for 360 degree projects. As with Standard, Segments aligns your mitre gauge using a system of pins in numbered holes. Yet instead of degrees, this jig’s holes correspond to the number of segments in your project—from 4 to 20.
Watch the video below to see how these jigs simplify setting angles and deliver consistent, accurate results. At the 3 minute mark, the woodworker uses MiterSet Segments to make the necessary cuts for a 360 degree project with seven segments. Rather than struggle with his mitre gauge to lock in the correct angle—for seven segments that’s 25.714 degrees—he places one pin at zero and the other at seven, sets his mitre gauge and starts cutting. The resulting segments are clean, gap-free and ready for glue-up.
If you are a woodturner who does a lot of segmented turning, MiterSet Segments could save you time and energy!
Made to Last
Both jigs are made in the USA of CNC-milled anodized aluminum with laser-etched hole markings. The holes are accurate to 0.001″ and both jigs include a foam-filled plastic case and non-slip neoprene rubber backing.
