“When it comes to every single thing being destroyed, you gotta pick one thing- one thing to start on… ’cause when you look at ’em all, there’s no hope.”
Over the last number of weeks, thanks to our loyal customers, KMS has been able to donate tools and funds to several organizations that have been helping the flood victims in B.C. tear out their basements, remove debris, and start to rebuild. For our long-time customer, Russ, we started by looking after his baby, Blue-Jean.

With the vastly devastating floods in BC, we at KMS Tools feel the pain of our neighbours in Abbotsford and surrounding areas who have lost so much, and are still learning of the extent of the damage to their properties and local infrastructure.  Travel routes and supply chains are damaged all over BC, and even Alberta is feeling some of the affects.  These are some of the reasons we are committing to donate a portion of all sales through the end of the year to disaster relief efforts in BC, through charitable organizations such as Samaritan’s Purse, the Red Cross, Mennonite Disaster Service, teams of volunteers from Columbia Bible College and Trinity Western University, and more.

Several of our locations have been cut off from supply chains, and we are working hard to get them the essential tools and equipment that first responders, farmers and contractors need in those areas.

Like so many businesses and residents, on the Monday when the floods were rising, KMS Tools off Sumas Way in Abbotsford was evacuated by police until the following afternoon, with the waters reaching within a block of our store.

“Our hearts go out to our neighbours.  We work and live in the affected communities, and want to be a part of the solution to rebuilding it.  The community supports us, and we want to give back to it” – Rich Hough, KMS Abbotsford Store Manager

The KMS Tools location in Chilliwack remained above water as well, and is now supporting residents in every way possible.  “Many of the families, farms, and businesses are our customers and we would like to give back however we can.” – Terry Allin, KMS Chilliwack Store Manager

If you’ve lost tools or equipment in the flood, we’re here to help you with your insurance claim.  More details on our website.
