Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Fort McMurray who have been affected by the fire. Tools for the World is an ongoing program that helps get tools into the hands of people who need them most around the world. When disaster strikes, there is a huge need for tools. Right now that’s in Fort McMurray. We are taking donations of tools and equipment specially designated for Fort McMurray. This is a special appeal to anyone who has old tools that are just too good to throw out. Clean out your garage, shed, workshop or closet, if it is a good old tool, we’ll take it! Hand tools or power tools, tools for plumbing, electrical, automotive, construction, welding, metal working, carpentry, restoration, etc.! Most tools can be used in some way. All nine locations of KMS Tools are accepting donations for Fort McMurray and any surplus tools will be distributed as needed around the world. When the time comes to assist the people of Fort McMurray with rebuilding their community, KMS will get your donated tools into the hands of the people who need them, for free.
For those not familiar with Tools for the World, it has been operating since 2009. In 2015, 80 pallets of tools came through Tools for the World and were distributed to 24 different countries! We have volunteers who will check over the tools, even do minor repairs. Some of our suppliers will provide batteries and parts for tools that need them. The Tool Corner 
I recently purchased a two wheel dolly from KMS Tools in Langley. It was an impulse buy, as I already owned a dolly. But this one was aluminum – built by Makita, and I didn’t have an aluminum one built by Makita, so I had to have it.
I bought the floor model but failed to realize that it also featured a heavy weight tie-down strap, that was not present at the time. A week later, I received a phone call from KMS, reporting that that they had found a tie-down strap and traced it to my purchase.
