Milwaukee M12 Jig Saw: 2445-20 / 2445-21

As if Milwaukee didn’t have an impressive enough assortment of 12v tools, they’ve made a splash with their new M12 Jigsaw, which is sure to become a handy addition to home owners and professionals tool arsenal.

Milwaukee 2445-21 CuttingThis compact cutting machine weighs in at 3.8 lbs. and a length of 8-3/4”-long (with the battery in place). It has 3/4″ Stroke and 0-2,800 SPM for fast and controlled cutting through various materials. It employs the same Quik-Lok™ T-Shank blade system, which is standard on most corded and cordless jigsaws. This Jig saw uses a roller blade guide to support the back side of the blade against the constant push from cutting the material. The roller’s low position helps to prevent blade flex when the tool is used properly.

The design of the M12 Jig saw is a hybrid design, while employing the same concepts as a classic barrel grip; the trigger end is consistent with the grip on any of their M12 drills. The M12™ Jig Saw has very little vibration at the handle. The Milwaukee site states that the saw is “designed to minimize vibration by using a fully counterbalanced mechanism and positioning the limited tool weight directly over the cutting area.”

Milwaukee 2445-21 ShoeOther features with the Jigsaw include an adjustable shoe (45-degrees right or left) which is easy to change with the built in release lever. The saw also comes with a non-marring plastic shoe cover to prevent marking fragile woods and a snap-in anti-splinter insert which comes in handy when wanting that smoother cut. An LED Light and Fuel Gauge are also included which illuminates the cut line and displays remaining run-time.

This tool is sold both as a kit (with kit bag, 1 M12 compact battery, and charger) and as a tool only. It’s definitely worth checking it out.
