Fenner Drives V-Belt System

The V-belt has been around for a long time.  It has served its purpose and gave the industry a revolution in motor technology; however thankfully, nothing is permanent.   The next innovation is the Fenner Drives V-Belt.  The Fenner Drives system has a product range of three similar but unique products: The NuTLink V-Belts for classical section drives, the  Super TLink V-Belts for applications using metric wedge SP rated belts, and the Power Twist Plus for most belt drive motors.  This belt out performs in almost every way to the transitional V-Belts.

Diamond Blades – Blade guide 101

Anyone who has done any tiling understands that the saw is just one piece of the puzzle.  Certainly, with a saw moving at three to ten thousand rpms, putting a thin kerf blade might cut just about anything, but the quality of cut, longevity of the blade, and effect on the saw might encourage any wet saw user to have the proper blade for the task at hand.  Considering the cost of blades, it is important to know what to look for when it comes to a diamond blade.

But why is there such a huge selection of different diamond blades out there, even within one brand?  How does a person understand and differentiate between the hundreds of unique qualities and styles?

WoodOwl Auger Bits

For those of you who have not heard of WoodOwl and need to use auger bits on a regular basis, these bits are going to make your life a whole lot easier. Although it might not be a household name, WoodOwl has designed one of the best nail chipper ship auger bits on the market and is highly regarded by those in the industry. WoodOwl is a Japanese company, with their drill bits fully produced by their own factory in Miki City, Japan with Japan-made high-carbon steel (S55C). This means that their bits are lighter in weight than standard auger bits, creating less fatigue. The precision circularity along the length of the bit keeps it in line without forcing the operator to compensate. The Japan-Made Carbon Steel used is some of the most durable on the planet, and mixed with precise heat treatment and induction hardening, the bit provides exceptional strength and gives a magnificent cut.

Why you need to upgrade to the new Makita LS1016L

Designing and building motors since 1915, Makita is still one of the most trusted manufacturers in the industry. After the fall of the radial arm saw in the 1990s, their compound mitre saw started growing enormously in popularity. The LS1016 (the 10-inch version, hence the “10”) and the LS1216 (the 12-inch) are the newest models in Makita’s lineup of mitre saws. The old LS1013 and LS1214 were workhorses that lasted longer than most people hoped. So when the new model came out, almost everyone had large expectations.

You can have a look at some of the new products that they have been developing. There is a lot of hype about how Milwaukee’s new Powerstate Brushless motors are lighter, more efficient and more powerful than anything in the industry and hopefully we can better explain what this is all about.
