Why you need to upgrade to the new Makita LS1016L

Designing and building motors since 1915, Makita is still one of the most trusted manufacturers in the industry. After the fall of the radial arm saw in the 1990s, their compound mitre saw started growing enormously in popularity. The LS1016 (the 10-inch version, hence the “10”) and the LS1216 (the 12-inch) are the newest models in Makita’s lineup of mitre saws. The old LS1013 and LS1214 were workhorses that lasted longer than most people hoped. So when the new model came out, almost everyone had large expectations.

Milwaukee Fuel Series – Part 1: What’s all this talk about brushless motors?

Over the next couple weeks we’ll be talking about some of the technology used in Milwaukee’s new Fuel line of cordless products.

Our first installment in this series is about their new brushless motors. If you haven’t already been over to Milwaukee’s new Fuel microsite, you should check it out. Trend® Airshield Face Protection System

Vibration Control Finishing Sanders

Bosch ROS65VC Vibration Control Sanders

Holding a random orbital sander while you progress through various grades of sandpaper looking for that final finish can be tiresome work. General I-Carver Junior CNC Machine Demo

A while back we posted a clip from a local television station which featured our own Kevin Berthelette and a basic run down on the new General I-Carver Junior CNC Machine. Unfortunately, sawdust and sensitive electronic and video equipment don’t mix, so we were unable to show an actual demo of how this awesome and surprisingly affordable CNC works, on the show. Well the folks at General International have helped us out by producing the following video which shows the features and operation of the I-Carver Junior.
